The Pata Zoo - more like a prision for animals.

The PATA ZOO amazingly, is located on the sixth floor of a downtown Bangkok shopping mall. Conditions for the animals kept there can best be described as barbaric. Whilst we show photos only of orangutans and views for people of the surrounding area, the zoo keeps gorillas, various monkeys, even a pony on the sixth floor of a department store! The heat, noise and air pollution in this area is dreadful - 24 hours a day.

The shows must stop.

After a long period during and after the police raid on Safari World, Bangkok, these abusive, cruel shows, have once again started. Look at the photo on the right with seven orangutans all of a similar age; if they bred all these the ages will be nothing more than a coincidence, they might also have bought some: but then again, could any of these young orangutans have been
born in the wild? Investigators have never seen an adult orangutan in this park. Photos courtesy of Karl Amman.
